Industry is responsible for negotiating local and regional support for their activities. Government will work with industry in areas where the industry moves into the production phase to ensure that these communities have access to information on the impact of industry development on their communities, opportunities to participate in ongoing monitoring, and appropriate arrangements to raise concerns and opportunities to improve local outcomes.

The NT Government is considering mechanisms and guidance for building relationships with community as part of the Social Responsibility to Operate including the ongoing engagement and monitoring of community sentiment.

In addition, and specific to the SREBA work, a regional reference group has been established to provide guidance and community feedback on the implementation of the Strategic Regional Environmental and Baseline Assessment (SREBA) in the Beetaloo sub-Basin. This group comprises representatives of regional stakeholders, and will also provide guidance in relation to this recommendation.
