Governance and accountability
The task of implementing specific Inquiry recommendations was spread across several ministerial portfolios and NT Government departments. Two additional oversight mechanisms were established to increase transparency and accountability outside normal government reporting systems:
- the appointment of an Independent Officer to oversee implementation
- the establishment of the Onshore Shale Gas Community and Business Reference Group.
